Emily Roberts, PhD

Dr. Emily Roberts is an Assistant Professor of Biostatistics in the University of Iowa College of Public Health. She earned her Ph.D. in biostatistics from the University of Michigan in 2022. Dr. Roberts has been involved with the CTSDMC and DCC since joining Iowa in 2022 and started her role with the pre-award team in 2023. Her methodological interests include causal inference and design of clinical trials, including the intersection of both when validating and incorporating intermediate endpoints into trials. This involves novel statistical approaches to assess a surrogate marker to increase trial efficiency and cost-effectiveness. In addition to her involvement with NeuroNEXT, Dr. Roberts is interested in cancer, diabetes, biomarkers, and longitudinal and survival data.
